engagement ring, wedding band  When my husband and I were still dating, we knew we would spend the rest of our lives together.  So, it was only natural that we would talk about marriage and a wedding and all that goes along with getting engaged.  My husband was right up front in asking me what I liked in an engagement ring.  I told him exactly what I could see myself wearing by my dream ring.  These were the points I touched on that led him to the perfect engagement ring and wedding band for me:

1. I preferred platinum and white gold to yellow gold.
2. I knew that I preferred an emerald or princess cut center stone.
3. I like simplicity and wanted a clean, simplistic band to reflect that.
4. I wanted something large enough to glisten and gleam when showing my friends, but small and unobtrusive enough that I would be able to clean, work, and play with it on and not worry about damaging any stones or the band.
5. Last, but certainly not least, I wanted him to find something that he could see me wearing.  I wanted it to be an engagement ring that would tell a tale for the rest of our lives.

Having spelled all my likes and dislikes out, it was no surprise that he found the most perfect engagement ring for me.  So you see, it was definitely a positive thing that he asked me my preferences.  I would have felt terrible had he purchased something opposite what I had envisioned, and the disappointment showed in my reaction.  Instead, I was incredibly surprised with his proposal and I am still in love with my wedding ring.  I wouldn't exchange it for any other wedding band in the world!
