wedding band, engagement ring


Usually I hear stories about ladies losing their diamond from their engagement ring down the couch...but my husband lost his original wedding band when he went away for a conference. He didn't really lose it, I guess. He knows right where he left it...but, it didn't come home with him.
Our wedding bands were plain bands, in silver tones. His was white gold, which was a little cheaper than mine, which is a platinum wedding band. I love mine, and it still sits on my left ring finger to this day. I had to have a platinum wedding band, because my engagement ring is made of platinum. The jeweler explained to us that if I purchased the cheaper white gold wedding band, the weightier and stronger platinum engagement ring would eventually rub it away. My husband's was the white gold, so fortunately when he left his wedding band behind at the hotel, it wasn't the larger investment he'd "lost".
Since then, I have found out that some jewelers will guarantee a wedding band against loss or theft. They will replace it with the same wedding band for no extra charge. I guess my husband isn't the only one who has left his wedding band someplace besides his finger!
